World Mental Health Day

Tuesday 10 October is World Mental Health Day, and to mark the occasion there will be a a special event held at The Engine Shed between 10am and 3pm.

Take time out from your day and come along to play one of the many games available at The Game Zone, a great way to relax and meet new people. If that’s a bit too busy for your liking you can enjoy one of books provided by the library in our comfy Reading Corner. Reading a little every day can reduce stress by up to 60%!

There will also be an opportunity to take a look at your financial wellbeing by getting a free Spree Cashback Card or finding out about the University’s new financial wellbeing hub.

There will also be a talk at 12pm from James, a graduate of the University, who will be talking about his time studying at the University whilst experiencing PTSD.

As well as all this, you can have a Tea and Talk with friends, meet Pumpkin the Therapy Dog, and even sign up to take part in this year’s Lincoln 10k for free as part of the University of Lincoln Team 10k.

The event is free of charge and all students are very welcome to attend.

Events take place at the Lincoln Museum (formerly The Collection) on Danes Terrace, Lincoln. Ticketing is provided by the Lincoln Arts Centre through a new collaboration as part of the University’s successful bid for Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) status. This will include appointment of a new festival director to grow the festival in 2024 and beyond, which should produce greater opportunities for staff and student involvement.
