Find a PC service now live!

ICT Services have developed a new service called “Find a PC”, that allows students to identify and locate available PC’s in the library.

It can be found at findapc.lincoln.ac.uk and can be viewed on any internet attached device (PC’s, laptops, tablets and phones).

Using helpful maps of each floor, the system shows the location of all PC’s, Macs, printers and other library services. On these maps PC’s that are currently available are highlighted in green, whereas those currently in use highlighted in red. There is also a general summary page which shows the overall percentage of library machines currently available – as well as how many machines are free on each floor.

This project was developed by ICT Associate Developers.  ICT Associate Developers are a small group recruited from the student body, and as such they offer a unique insight into how systems across the university are used and how they might be improved. The Associate Developers are currently also working on an ‘A to B route planner’ for the University campus that will show the location of, and provide directions to, teaching spaces in the University.

Gender Inequality in sport Survey

College of Social Science student Joseph Palethorpe (13387134@students.lincoln.ac.uk) has launched a survey on perceived inequality with sport.

As part of a year three BSc Sport Development and Coaching course module, ‘Sociological Issues in Sport Development’, a group of four students have been given the task to improve intramural sport for students on campus. In particular, the group aim to challenge current practices in the organization of intramural social football, which despite being advertised as a mixed gender activity, remains very much a male dominated environment. It is for this reason we would appreciate it if you could take the time to complete the questionnaire below. The answers you provide will contribute greatly in achieving positive improvements, and hence creating a much more inclusive sporting environment.

In order to make beneficial change, we would like to invite you to take approximately 10 minutes to complete our short questionnaire, which will help to inform us of the views and requests students have to make intramural sport more accessible for all at the University of Lincoln.

If you have any queries surrounding this, please contact

Many thanks for taking the time to be a part of this.
