A new exhibition inspired by the Lincoln AtoZ street map opens to the public from 20th December at The Collection in Lincoln.

Lincoln AtoZ: The Exhibition is the culmination of a two-year project in which radio host Paul Tyler and producer Jonny Haw visited 52 randomly selected grid squares from the Lincoln AtoZ street map, on a mission to explore each grid and make a radio programme about each one.

Paul Tyler said: “Lincoln AtoZ is all about taking the time to explore our city and noticing the little details and nooks and crannies we usually pass by. The grid squares were chosen at random by members of the public, so we had no control over where we ended up.  Whether it was a busy city street or a completely empty field, we had to somehow make a radio programme about each and every one.”

As the series, broadcast on East Midlands Radio Station of the Year Siren FM, comes to an end, they have put together a collection of works by local artists inspired by the AtoZ concept. The exhibition includes works by photographers Rob Rickels, Kate Tyler and Julian Clune, artists Phil Martin, James Relf, Philip Clarke and Rosie Ablewhite.  The centrepiece of the exhibition is an installation by Paul Tyler featuring objects collected from each grid square over the past two years.

The exhibition is open to the public from 20th December in the Courtyard Gallery at The Collection, and continues through to 24th January.  Entry is free.
