Blackboard enhancements and downtime in August

The University has invested in Blackboard enhancements to improve the Virtual Learning Environment in time for the start of the 2014/15 term. This work is essential to improve online student engagement.

In March, Blackboard Mobile™ was launched for the University of Lincoln. To date, more than 6,000 users have downloaded the application, which is a clear indication of the desire from the student community to use the system.

To support enhancements for Blackboard Learn™, the service will require downtime from 4 August to 11 August.

During this time, staff and students will be able to read previously loaded content but not be able to update or add any existing or new content/information to Blackboard.

New content or information will be able to be uploaded to the enhanced service from 11 August.
