Feature from Lincoln Media student published by leading film-maker magazine

A student from the University of Lincoln’s School of Media is celebrating after seeing his six-page feature published in a leading magazine dedicated to independent film-making.

Tom Anderson, who is currently in the final year of his BA (Hons) Media Production degree, penned the feature for the 10th edition of Digital Filmmaker magazine. The magazine profiles independent productions and provides information on the latest film and camera technology.

Tom’s article, entitled ‘The RED Camera Demystified’, describes his experience of using the RED SCARLET, a professional digital motion picture and still camera system, while evaluating the pros and cons of using this industry standard piece of equipment.

Tom said: “I’ve been an avid film geek since I was fourteen … fast forward to 2013 and I’m making short films and promotional videos on a regular basis, mainly using the RED Scarlet-X.”

Janice Kearns, LSM Joint Programme Leader for Media Production, added: “The team at the magazine was very pleased with Tom’s article, and he has even been offered the opportunity to have further articles published in the future.”

The feature is included in this month’s issue of Digital Filmmaker magazine, which was released 28th November 2013 is available to buy in WHSmiths until the end of this month.
