Philosophers and scientists have long been puzzled by the human fascination with the macabre. Why is it that we seek out stories of terrible monsters, evil ghosts, and murderous men? In this lecture, Dr Coltan Scrivner will explore how the evolutionary trajectory of our species modified our psychology in ways that led to a fascination with evil men and the subsequent popularity of true crime.
