Your Introduction to the Careers & Employability Service

Are you a new international student, wondering how the Careers & Employability service can support you throughout your career journey? This guide will help you understand what services and support we offer!

Whether you’re looking for a part-time job or wanting to work in the UK after you finish studying, the Careers & Employability Service can help you.

Careers & Employability are located in the main Library building and are also accessible online at uolcareers.co.uk. We are here to support students with their career ideas.

We are open 9am – 4.30pm every day and can help you:

  • Find a part-time job
  • Gain a job on campus
  • Develop your CV and LinkedIn profile
  • Guide you through the job application process including interviews and psychometric tests
  • Explain how and where to look for work after your studying across the UK

We hold central events such as careers fairs, workshops and one-to-one appointments. If you want to talk to a member of our Careers & Employability team about anything to do with your career, you can book an appointment by using our Appointment Booking Tool that’s on our website: Access appointments and support.

We also have dedicated resources for international students. Have a look at our International Student Careers & Employability web page where you can discover:

  • Recorded workshops on working in the UK, during and after your studies
  • Access to the website Student Circus – a site dedicated to showing UK job vacancies available for international students
  • Our Frequently Asked Questions sheet covering many questions that international students have – from National Insurance to CVs.
