Help celebrate some of the fantastic achievement the University has made this year by nominating in the SU Awards

Course of the Year – For this Award, we ask you to take into account teaching quality, feedback and organisation of the course. Does the course you’re nominating stand out as dynamic and offer examples of work which others could take on board? Then you should nominate them.

Community Partnership Award – Engagement with the community is something which the Students’ Union and University value highly. If you know someone who has been committed to making an impact within the Lincoln community, for example through assisting the Students’ Union with project work and opportunities, help us recognise them by filling in a nomination.

Staff Member of the Year – This Award is for an individual member of staff who has consistently and passionately worked to enhance the experience of students. You nominate someone who has been helpful, supportive, approachable and patient. This member of staff can be a teacher, cleaner, administrator, porter, or any other member of staff at the University, as long as this person has positively impacted on the experience of others.

Service Team of the Year – This will be awarded to a University professional services team who are constantly enhancing the student experience or offering a great standard of service. If you know a team who deserves to be recognised, nominate them for and SU Award.

Feedback Award – Feedback is an important part of the study process; students have told us that feedback is most useful when it is personalised, helpful and constructive. Nominees for the award should have captured these qualities in order to support the academic development of their students. Who will you choose?

Employability Award – This award is for either an individual staff member or a specific course team who have employability on their agenda and are going the extra mile to offer advice and expertise to ensure students are more confident about using their skills after university. Nominate for this award in three easy steps.

Outstanding Contribution to Volunteering – Students volunteer in a variety of ways within the Students’ Union, University and across the city of Lincoln. If you know someone who has shown outstanding commitment to volunteering, selflessly giving up their time to benefit the community and going above and beyond to make a difference, nominate them for a Students’ Union Award.

Student Engagement Initiative of the Year – This award reflects the excellent work done by the University and Students’ Union to broaden engagement of staff and students in how the University runs and develops its services, schools and campus. If you know someone who has delivered a significant improvement to the University, engaging both staff and students in the process, then you should nominate them.

Outstanding contribution to Societies – This award is for a student who has shown outstanding commitment to societies within the Students’ Union. You can recognise someone who has worked to develop their society and create a community feel for its members, someone who has dedicated significant time and effort to their Activity, by nominating them.

Outstanding contribution to Sports – Nominees will have shown outstanding dedication to their sport and will commit significant time and effort to ensure teamwork is at the heart of their Activity. If you know someone who is passionate about the development of themselves and others, on and off the pitch, help us recognise them. Who will you choose?

Postgraduate Choice Award – Sponsored by the Graduate School, this award is for someone who reflects the University’s plans to increase the number of Postgraduate students at Lincoln. Nominees will be those who improve the Postgraduate learning environment and encourage collaborative, inter-disciplinary work. This may include representing the University nationally and internationally at conferences and major events, playing a significant role in innovative research or demonstrating good ideas using public engagement. If you know someone who meets these criteria, nominate them for an SU Award.

Outstanding contribution to Representation – Nominate someone for this award that has shown commitment to representing, involving or communicating with students for academic or welfare purposes. If they have acted as the student voice in their own area, having significant impact in representing others, then you should nominate them.

Inspiring Teacher of the Year Award – Nominees will be those who have been recognised for teaching style or content which has inspired students to reach their academic potential or continue on to Postgraduate study. Inspiring teachers are those who challenge and motivate their students, engaging them in meaningful academic activity. In short, they provide teaching that inspires students to learn and be successful. Submit a nomination for this Award in three easy steps.

Roger Buttery Campaign of the Year – Considered for this Award will be those who have developed and delivered a campaign which is truly-student led, engaging their peers to raise awareness of a topic or issue. If you’ve encountered a student who has worked to create a positive impact, which can be felt across the University, nominate them for a Students’ Union Award.
