A new study into fear of public speaking has been launched by students in the College of Social Science.
The team are recruiting participants into the study which seeks to use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT encourages acceptance and living according to ones values in order to develop skills to help with difficulties such as public speaking.
Participants will be guided through a self-help workbook, a short daily questionnaire and a weekly questionnaire. You will also need to meet with the researcher three times during the study to complete a computerised task. The study is expected to last six weeks and participants will be compensated for their time (£28 in total).
