Support services on campus

The safety of our students is a priority here at the University of Lincoln. There are a range of specialist services available to you if you find yourself in difficulty whilst at university. 

Security

The Brayford Campus security team are available 24/7 to offer assistance.

All areas of the campus are monitored by the Security team, including CCTV and fire systems.

Security responsibilities include:

  • Foot and mobile patrol of the campus
  • Responding to all alarm activations
  • Manning of the security office
  • Out-of-hours point of contact
  • Provision of security advice to staff and students
  • 24/7 assistance on campus

Residence Life Wardens

If you live in university-managed accommodation, our ResLife team are on hand to support you during your residence. ResLife Wardens are the first port of call if you have any issues relating to your accommodation, personal and academic matters. They will be able to refer you to the relevant team to ensure the issue is dealt with appropriately.

If you ever need assistance from the ResLife team, you can contact them every day between 6pm until midnight via email on ResLife@lincoln.ac.uk, call them on 01522 835550. Student Support and Advice Centre

The Student Support and Advice Centre provide impartial support and advice on a wide range of issues.

If you are the victim of bullying, harassment, or a hate crime, you can speak with an advisor in the Student Support and Advice Centre. They will be able to assist you with the appropriate reporting procedures. It is important to note that you can also make anonymous reports online. You can find further information HERE.

The Student Support and Advice Centre is located on the ground floor of the Minerva Building and you can visit them at the following times:

Monday: 8.30am – 5pm

Tuesday: 8.30am – 5pm

Wednesday: 9.30am – 5pm

Thursday: 8.30am – 5pm or 7pm during term time

Friday: 8.30am – 4.30pm

Student Wellbeing Centre 

Staff within the Student Wellbeing Centre are on hand to offer confidential support and advice on issues including, but not limited to, specific learning differences, mental health and medical conditions. 

Within the Student Wellbeing Centre, are Sexual and Domestic Abuse Advisors, who support students. If you, or anyone you know needs to access to the service provided by the team, click HERE. University of Lincoln students have access to a free counselling service. This is a confidential and non-judgemental safe space to help you explore your feelings, thinking and attitudes, which may also help with making decisions that are right for you. For more information, please click HERE

Campus Police Officer 

The University of Lincoln has a dedicated Police Officer, PC Mark Wrigley. He can offer advice around issues such as crime and safety. PC Wrigley is located within the Student Wellbeing Centre, where you can have and informal conversation or make a full report about any concerns you might have.

University Health Centre

Whilst students are living away from home, it is a good idea to register with the University Health Centre so you can access the right health care when you need it. 

The University Health Centre is located in the Marina Building (next to The Swan Bar and The Student Wellbeing Centre) and can be contacted on 01522 870 010. Their opening times are 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Students’ Union

The Students’ Union is an independent organisation to the University, offering support to students during their studies. 

If you have issues with housing or halls, you can contact their advice centre on 01522 837000 or advice@lincoln.ac.uk.  

Chaplaincy

The Multi-Faith Chaplaincy service works with students of different faiths and none. If you need support from the team, you can visit them at Witham House (next to the Sports Centre) or contact them on 01522 886079 or chaplaincy@lincoln.ac.uk.
