The University of Lincoln has been awarded a grant from the Magna Carta Trust’s 800th Anniversary Commemoration Committee to create a work of outdoor art for our campus. This can be freestanding or designed as part of an existing building. The work of art can be created or constructed from any material – the budget for construction is £5,000.
As part of the Magna Carta celebrations, the poet Laureate, Carol Ann Duffy, who is also a Visiting Artist at the University, crafted a poem to celebrate the 800th anniversary. That poem is to be the inspiration for your work of art and a copy is available on our website.
Dame Carol Ann Duffy will be one of the judges for the competition.
The closing date for the competition is 30 December 2015.
