Applications to be part of the Executive Team for 2015/16 are open and we’re looking for non-media students!
Brayford Radio is the University of Lincoln’s student radio station and we’re looking for people to take over its running next year. You don’t have to be a media student, whatever you study, if you think you’ve got ideas, skills and ambition to take the station to the next level, we want you to apply. We have 6 roles available covering a range of disciplines, these are:
Station Manager: The Station Manager is the most senior position on the Executive Team. You will manage the rest of the teams workloads, coordinating the work of the station to ensure its continuous growth and development. You will support the rest of the executive in their work, ensure that our listeners views are represented, and continuously push for the development of the station.
Programming Coordinator: As Programming Coordinator you are responsible for the stations output, ensuring shows are varied and to a professional standard. You also maintain continuity of the station’s output. Your role is to ensure the development of new shows on the station, including reading over proposals and giving people the go ahead to go on air.
Head of Technical: The Technical Director is in charge of the smooth running of the station. You will be ensuring the station is on air, training Brayford Radio colleagues to use equipment and also to manage the health and safety of the radio station. You will be on call to help whenever it is needed and lead your own technical crew to ensure the smooth running of shows.
Head of Marketing: The Head of Marketing role is in charge of increasing the audience reach of Brayford Radio to students at the University who have yet to hear about the station. This role requires use of social media to inform our audience about our weekly shows, upcoming events, and opportunities available. In addition to this, the ability to create traditional media to promote the station round campus through the creation of posters and other materials is desirable. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of the website.
Head of Events: This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your events management skills through creating events which will both promote and develop the station. The Events Director will be responsible for the coordination of developing the large scale broadcasts such as Varsity, Freshers Week, whilst developing our portfolio of other events throughout the year. This would be great for an events management student.
Head of Station Sound: Brand New for this year! The Head of Station Sound is in charge of creating the overall audio identity of the station through the creation of jingles, beads and other audio packages. The role also will lead on the Brayford Sessions. These are live music sessions, allowing local talent from around the university to have a platform to be recorded in a professional environment.
