University of Lincoln Islamic Society Eid Party – 16 October

eid

The University of Lincoln Students’ Union Islamic Society will be holding an Eid Party at 6pm on 16 October in the Atrium (Minerva Building).

Eid Celebrations are an important part of faith. Last week week Muslims celebrated Eid al-Adha, known as the Feast of Sacrifice or the Greater Eid, and is one of the two most important celebrations in the Muslim calendar.

The Greater Eid also marks the end of Hajj, the five-day religious journey that takes Muslims to the Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Some food will be provided on the night, but please remember to bring a small dish of warm food or dessert or alternatively bring some traditional coffee with cups and flask.

They’ll be an opportunity to have your hands decorated in henna, face painting and many other stalls and activities set up to help raise funds for the Islamic Society.

This event is open to everyone.

See you there!
