The University of Lincoln and three of the city’s Rotary Clubs are joining forces to put on a festive concert at the Brayford Campus on Thursday 19th December.
North Kesteven School choir will lead the singing, accompanied by the celebrated 30-piece Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Band, appearing by kind permission of the Chief Fire Officer.
The multi-faith carol concert of peace and light will bring music, prayer and readings from different communities in Lincoln in what promises to be a memorable and uplifting evening. It will be the first time a carol concert has been held by the University and everyone is welcome.
Admission is free, but in the spirit of Christmas, donations are gladly received for the Rotary Clubs’ ShelterBox appeal, bringing relief to humanitarian crises such as in Syria and the Philippines, and the University’s Peace Scholarship fund. There will be mulled wine on sale and audience members will be treated to a free mince pie or a biscuit.
Director of Communications, Development and Marketing Elly Sample said: “This is the first time the University has hosted a Christmas carol concert and we are delighted to be doing so in conjunction with the Rotary Clubs of Lincoln. We are looking forward to welcoming many people on campus to celebrate this season of peace and light.”
The Rotary Clubs involved are Lincoln Colonia, Lincoln and Bailgate Lincoln.
The event will be held in the Atrium of the Main Admin Building on the banks of the Brayford pool. It will start at 7pm. To book telephone 01522 837100 or email events@lincoln.ac.uk
