The department of Sport & Exercise has some exciting news!

We are pleased to announce the opening of our brand new Sports Massage Clinic from Monday 25th October. The clinic will be open every Monday during term time between 3pm – 7pm.

The clinic will be led by second year students of the BSc in Sport & Exercise Therapy course and the practice will form an important aspect of their continued education and training, so please support them and book a session today!

The Sports Massage Clinic is designed to provide staff and students at the University of Lincoln with massage treatments for a range of reasons including pre & post-sport performance, post-injury recovery, or general maintenance of physical and mental wellbeing.

Each session is 45 minutes and will cost £5. The initial 45-minute session will include an in-depth consultation of around 10-15 minute followed by a 30 minute sports massage.

The clinic is located in the Human Performance Centre (HPC), which is within the Sports Centre.

Car Parking Enforcement to Resume

Staff and students are advised that City of Lincoln Council will be resuming car parking enforcement on campus this week and will issue penalty charge notices to vehicles in breach of the University’s car parking policy.

This is in accordance with the University’s car parking policy, which is available at this link: https://lncn.ac/uolparking

Staff are reminded that existing car parking permits have been extended. Permits due to expire on 31 December 2020 will expire at the end of June 2022. This has been communicated to the City Council enforcement team.

If staff are collecting permits for the first time, and they have been applied for through the support desk, they can be collected from Security. Please contact estatessupport@lincoln.ac.uk if you require further information.

Be Inspired! Lecture: Celebrating Ada Lovelace Day

Join us as we celebrate Ada Lovelace Day with a Be Inspired! Lecture featuring short talks from women across the College of Science sharing their experiences from Lecturer to PVC, Head of College.

Ada Lovelace Day is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). It aims to increase the profile of women in STEM, creating new role models to encourage more girls into STEM careers and support women already working in STEM fields. It is celebrated annually on the second Tuesday of October.

Ada Lovelace was a 19th Century pioneer collaborating with Charles Babbage and is considered to be the world’s first computer programmer. Despite the many contributions women have made to science, they are still under-represented in STEM fields.
