The Eleanor Glanville Centre at the University of Lincoln will be holding a workshop exploring how women can get involved with politics.
The workshop will run from 6pm to 9pm on the 27th of November and will cover how to kick-start your political career and how to overcome any barriers that could be in your way. The event will be facilitated by Laura McWilliams from Lincoln City Council.
Women from across the political spectrum and from any and all backgrounds are welcome. The event will help you get started and connect you with other women in Lincoln who are on the same journey.
The workshop is being organised in the name of Professor Jacqui Briggs, who was head of the School of Social and Political Sciences and founding director of the Eleanor Glanville Centre. She was a passionate advocate for increasing women’s role in politics and sadly passed away last year.
Professor Belinda Colston, Founding Director of the Eleanor Glanville Centre said: “The EGC is very excited to be hosting this workshop on behalf of The Parliament Project. As the University of Lincoln’s Diversity and Inclusion Centre, we are aware of the many barriers women in politics face and the detriment not having full representation in politics can have on communities. We hope the workshop will encourage women from all political beliefs to become politically involved on either a local or national level.”
