Be Inspired! Lecture: Sean Morton – You’re On Mute

Join us as we mark Disability History Month 2021 with a Be Inspired! Lecture exploring the impact of hidden disabilities.

Over the last 18 months many people have started talking only for no-one to hear them. That is, until they unmute themselves, at the click of a button their voice can be heard.

It is not that simple for around 12 million adults in the UK, with 1 in 5 people having a degree of hearing loss or impairment.

This Be Inspired lecture recognises Disability History month and the theme of Disability and Hidden Impairment and will delve into the history of hidden impairments and disability, it will explore how society defines disability. This talk will look at those disabilities which are not apparent, this will focus on the challenges that people have historically faced and may continue to face with hearing impairment.

So join Sean Morton, Senior Lecturer and hidden disability advocate as we say “You’re on mute…”
