Join us as we celebrate Ada Lovelace Day with a Be Inspired! Lecture featuring short talks from women across the College of Science sharing their experiences from Lecturer to PVC, Head of College.
Ada Lovelace Day is an international celebration of the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). It aims to increase the profile of women in STEM, creating new role models to encourage more girls into STEM careers and support women already working in STEM fields. It is celebrated annually on the second Tuesday of October.
Ada Lovelace was a 19th Century pioneer collaborating with Charles Babbage and is considered to be the world’s first computer programmer. Despite the many contributions women have made to science, they are still under-represented in STEM fields.
