Pint of Science is an annual festival that takes place from the 20th to the 22nd May with events happening simultaneously in multiple cities across the globe. The festival allows researchers to share their latest findings for all to discover in a relaxed, fun environment.
Talks will take place at the same time in three venues across the city– The Pessimist Wine and Gin Bar on Mint Lane, The Lion and Snake in the Bailgate and Café Portico on The Terrace. Each night will involve talks from two speakers as well as question and answer sessions, interactive activities and giveaways. Attendees will have the chance to hear about a range of topics from academics from across the University, including:
• ‘How humans are changing the Earth – myths, law, and the future’
• ‘A byte of music’
• ‘From farm to fork – the agri-robotics revolution’
• ‘Exoplanets: new worlds that are stranger than science fiction’
• ‘The Fossdyke: do we underestimate the Iron Age?’
• ‘Catching the Black Death – latest news and views on history’s biggest killer’
