Please be advised that as a result of the Brexit process all ‘.eu’ internet domains will no longer be available to UK organisations and will cease to operate once Brexit is complete.
The current lncn.eu URL shortening and redirection service is one of the internet domains that will cease to operate, as a consequence of this ICT have developed a new URL shortening service using the domain ‘lncn.ac’.
The new service is available immediately and requests for new short URLs can be made at lncn.ac.
The existing lncn.eu URL redirection service will continue for a period of time to allow existing links to be transferred to the new service; however, it is no longer possible to create new lncn.eu short URLs.
ICT have liaised with all departments to help ensure existing links are migrated to the new service as necessary.
Individuals who have set up lncn.eu short URLs are advised to set up a new lncn.ac short URL as soon as possible and arrange for all documents, web pages, etc. containing the original lncn.eu short URL to be changed to the new lncn.ac URL.
All lncn.eu URLs will automatically cease to work when the lncn.eu domain is ceased by the European domain controller.
N.B. The lncn.eu redirection service will continue to operate until 29th of March 2019, this date may be extended to the end of the Brexit transition period if Brexit negotiations are completed successfully prior to the 29th of March 2019.
