From September, the Main Administration Building will be named the Minerva Building.

The change in the name reflects the legacy of Minerva* and her long standing association with the University of Lincoln.

Vice Chancellor Professor Mary Stuart said: “Minerva has played an important symbolic role in the University’s development and the renaming is an important connection with that history.”
Students are advised to use the building name at the earliest opportunity. New signage will be placed across campus from August featuring the new name.
All room numbers within the building will remain the same with the prefix MB.
Additionally, the Marina Building (next to The Shed) will be renamed the Student Wellbeing Centre following the announcement of the new Student Services structure in July. Sparkhouse and the Enterprise Building will be renamed Sparkhouse.
* Minerva is the Roman goddess of wisdom and sponsor of arts, trade and strategy.

The University is building new teaching and learning facilities on the ground floor of the Junxion building on St. Mark’s Street this summer. The new facilities will include:

  • Two lecture spaces
  • Three seminar spaces
  • Two social learning spaces

The new facilities will open on Monday 15 September 2014.

The Learning Landscapes website has a new page describing the new facilities at the Junxion. Staff and students who are timetabled into rooms JUN0001–5 from September may find this particularly useful – http://learninglandscapes.blogs.lincoln.ac.uk/projects/junxion
