Campus Power Shutdown – Sunday 15th July

Power to the main Brayford Pool campus will be shut down for one day on Sunday 15th July to enable essential maintenance work to be carried out on the University’s key electricity infrastructure on the campus.

The work will begin at 7am and last until Sunday evening, affecting all academic and accommodation buildings located on the main campus. Please ensure you have switched electrical items off in advance, including saving any work ad switching off your computers. Fridge freezers can remain plugged in.

Building access:
Academic buildings on the main campus will be closed to staff and students while the power is turned off and people are asked not to try and access them. The work will affect all sockets and lighting, hot water, automatic doors, lifts, air conditioning, and other building services. The following buildings which are situated just off the main campus will not be affected: David Chiddick, Sarah Swift, JBL, Minster House, Charlotte Scott House, and Think Tank.

ICT access:
There will be no ICT services, internet access or telephones available on campus between 6am on Sunday 15th July and 6am on Monday 16th July. Some cloud-based services including Office 365 (Email, OneDrive etc), the OneUni finance and student systems, the University corporate website, and the library system will continue to operate and be available remotely off campus.

Please be aware that you will need your PIN to log on to your telephone on the Monday morning.
