Inaugural Lecture: Professor Graham Law | 30th Jan

glawThe College of Social Science will be hosting the next Professorial Inaugural Lecture on Tuesday 30th January 2018. This series of lectures are an opportunity to hear about the research work of some of our newest Professors in the College of Social Science at the University of Lincoln.

In this lecture, Professor Graham Law will speak on “Sleep, Sugar and Statistics”, presenting some of his research over the past 25 years, having looked at where disease occurs, how it is caused and what may be done to reduce its burden on our society.

Much of his research has focused on diabetes, with a more recent interest in sleep and its consequences. He has pioneered the development and application of complicated methods. Professor Law will discuss where he thinks research into chronic disease may be heading and how this may impact. Particularly the recent developments in an understanding of ‘Type 3 Diabetes’, or Alzheimer’s as it is also known.

The lecture will take place in the Minerva Building at the University of Lincoln. Arrival is from 5.30pm for a 6pm start. The presentation will conclude at 7pm with a drinks reception offering an opportunity for networking, and to continue any discussions arising from the lecture.

This evening lecture is free to attend but booking is required. Please confirm booking or direct queries to collegesocialscience@lincoln.ac.uk
